Lamb is a film adaptation of the novel of the same name by Bonnie Nadzam. It follows David Lamb's journey of self-discovery in the weeks following the dissolution of his marriage and the death of his father. In an attempt to reclaim some faith in his own goodness, he focuses his attention to Tommie, an awkward and unpopular eleven-year-old girl who he finds himself attracted to. The young man is confident that he can save her from a life of lethargy and emptiness, and he arranges for Tommie to accompany him on a road trip from Chicago to the Rockies, where he hopes to introduce her to the grandeur of the mountain scenery. The adventure disturbs them in ways that neither of them anticipates.
