Typical episodes focus around the reveal of a specific Shen Gong Wu, with both sides rushing to find it. The episode usually comes to a head when one good and one evil character must compete for custody of the artifact in a magical combat known as a Xiaolin Showdown. On August 26, 2013, Disney XD premiered a sequel series called Xiaolin Chronicles. On September 14 of that year, it began its long-term run.
