Beginning on September 21, 2005, Invasion is an American science fiction television series that aired on ABC for only one season. Similar to Invasion of the Body Snatchers, the show depicted the aftermath of a hurricane in which water-based organisms penetrate a tiny Florida community and begin replicating its residents. Shaun Cassidy Productions and Warner Bros. Television produced the program. Due to Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and its aftermath in the southern United States, ABC hastily dropped early on-air promotions. The advertising subsequently shifted its focus to the alien invasion portion of the series, omitting any mention of the hurricane. The launch was also preceded by a warning that the show contained potentially upsetting pictures of a fake hurricane.
