Thomas Dunn is a guy who has lost his trust in God following the death of his little daughter. His life has come crashing down, and his confidence has been crushed. Yet on this day, he awakens to discover that Mandy, his devoted wife, is pregnant once more. Perhaps this is their opportunity to move on from the sadness of the past and for him to reclaim his faith. However, on this day as well, a massive extraterrestrial mother-ship appears in the heavens, and the inhabitants of the planet are immediately tortured by visions of the end of civilisation. Tom and Mandy are separated when the mother-ship deploys a massive alien fleet that attacks the earth's villages and cities.
