Hinako "Hina" Sakuragi was born and raised in the countryside of Japan. She gets very nervous when she meets new people, to the point where she looks like a stiff scarecrow. Hina wants to deal with this by getting involved in theater. She got this idea from a play she saw on a school trip. So, Hina moves into the Hitotose Manor in the busy city of Tokyo to go to Fujiyama High School and try to join the school's famous theater club. Hina is upset to find out that Fujiyama High's theater club hasn't been meeting for a long time. Hina has already moved to Tokyo and started school, so she doesn't know what to do next. The landlady of Hitotose Manor, Chiaki Hagino, sees that Hina is sad and wants to learn about theater, so she tells her to start a group with the other people who live there. Hinako Note is about Hina as she starts a new life in Tokyo. She goes to Fujiyama High School and learns about theater with the help of her friends.
