In Italy prior to World War II, a young couple has a son. The father, however, is envious of his son, and the scene shifts to antiquity, where the infant is taken into the desert and slain. He is saved, given the name Edipo (Oedipus), and raised as their son by the King and Queen of Corinth. Edipo is informed by an oracle that he is destined to murder his father and marry his mother. Frightened, he departs Corinth and his alleged parents, only to get into a battle on the way and kill an older man...
