Flora is a circus elephant who has been unable to do her feats for some time. Flowers is taken from the circus by Dawn, a 14-year-old daughter of the circus owner, the night before she is due to be euthanized. It is only two hundred kilometers of woods, a roaring river, two elephant hunters, and the terror of not making it to the elephant preserve that lies between them and the safety of the elephant preserve.
