Xavier: Renegade Angel is an American CGI fantasy-comedy TV show created by John Lee, Vernon Chatman, Jim Tozzi, and Alyson Levy. Lee and Chatman are also the ones who made Wonder Showzen. The show was made by PFFR and had animation by Cinematico. It first aired at midnight on November 4, 2007, on Adult Swim, and on November 1, 2007, on the Adult Swim website. Style-wise, Xavier has a nonlinear, jumbled plot that follows the funny musings of an itinerant humanoid pseudo-shaman and spiritual seeker named Xavier. The show is known for its frequent use of black comedy, surrealist, and absurdist humor with a psychedelic, New Age lens. The show is also usually rated TV-MA for intense, graphic, and often bloody violence, strong sexual content, use of racially/ethnically offensive language, grotesque images, and content that is "too morbid and too hard to understand for young viewers." Xavier: Renegade Angel started on November 4, 2007, and ended on April 16, 2009, with a total of 20 episodes. The show was cancelled due to low ratings.
