Webster
Webster is an American situation comedy that originally aired on ABC from September16, 1983 to May8, 1987 and in first-run syndication from September21, 1987 to March29, 1989. Stu Silver developed the series. Emmanuel Lewis plays the main character, a little kid who is adopted by his NFL-player godfather, portrayed by Alex Karras, and his new socialite wife, portrayed by Susan Clark. The majority of the plot was on how this hastily wed couple had to adjust to their new lives and sudden parenting, but it was the affable Webster who drove much of the action. Georgian Bay Ltd., Emmanuel Lewis Entertainment Enterprises, Inc., and Paramount Television produced the series. Webster, like NBC's previous hit Diff'rent Strokes, had a young African-American kid adopted by a white family.
