Those Who Kill is a 2011 Danish crime TV series that follows a fake section inside the Copenhagen Police Department that specializes in investigating serial murders. In Denmark, the series was broadcast in five two-part episodes, however in most other countries, it was broadcast in five feature-length episodes. Fortidens skygge, a distinct 92-minute feature film that serves as a continuation and conclusion to the series, opened in Danish theatres on March 15, 2012, and is being televised as the series' last, sixth episode in several other countries, including the United Kingdom and Germany. Elsebeth Egholm and Stefan Jaworski devised and wrote the series, with other screenwriters such as Siv Rajendram, Rikke De Fine Licht, and Morten Dragsted contributing as episode writers. Birger Larsen, Niels Nrlv, and Kasper Barfoed have served as directors. The series is a collaboration between Denmark, Germany, Sweden, and Norway. Despite being expected to run for several seasons, Danish TV2 stated in October 2011 that there would be no further seasons due to low viewership after the first few episodes. "We have no plans to continue the series," TV2 programming manager Keld Reinicke said, "since it never provided us the audience share we expected in Denmark."
