The Slave Hunters

The Slave Hunters is a 2010 South Korean action historical drama about a slave hunter who is pursuing a general-turned-runaway slave while also looking for the woman he loves. It aired on KBS2 for 24 episodes on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 21:55 from January 6 to March 25, 2010. Visually and intellectually appealing elements were powerful brawn, sophisticated yet gritty action scenes, bawdy comedy, and poetic moments of melancholy and empathy. Critics praised filmmaker Kwak Jung-cinematography, hwan's which used a Red One camera. The successful series led the ratings chart for seven weeks in a row, averaging 31.7 percent and peaking at 35.9%. The Seoul International Drama Awards and the KBS Drama Awards both recognized the series. Jang was also nominated for an International Emmy Award for Best Actor for his performance.
