Cassie Blake moved home with her grandma after her mother's death in a house fire in the small Washington state community of Chance Harbor. Strange and terrible events begin to occur as she gets to know her high school friends. They are all descended from powerful witches, and they have been waiting for Cassie to join them and make a new generation of the Secret Circle. What they don't know yet is that darker forces are at work and that Cassie's mother's death may not have been an accident.
