Iwatani Naofumi and three other persons were summoned into a parallel universe to become the world's Heroes. When called, each of the heroes earned their own legendary equipment, with Naofumi receiving the Legendary Shield as his weapon. Because of his lack of charisma and expertise, Naofumi is regarded as the weakest, only to be betrayed, unjustly accused, and robbed on the third day of the trip.
