The New People
The New People was an American television series that aired on ABC in the year1969. It centered on a group of young college students who were returning from a trip in Southeast Asia when their plane crashed on an island in the south Pacific Ocean. The series only lasted for a limited number of episodes. The collision claimed the lives of several of the college students and all of the adults, with the exception of one who was severely hurt but survived the incident. On the island, the only human life that had managed to survive was that of the students. The island was unique in that it had been prepared for the possibility of hosting an above-ground nuclear test; however, the test was never carried out, and as a result, all of the structures and supplies on the island were intact and ready to be used by the survivors.
