Dan Stark and his partner, Frank Savage, were high-ranking Dallas police officers in the 1970s. After rescuing the Governor's kid, they were hailed as heroes in the United States of America. Thirty years later, Dan Stark is a retired detective who spends most of his time drinking or reminiscing about his glory days. New partner Jack Bailey is a hard-working, meticulous detective who is also a little too caustic for his own good at times. Adding insult to injury is the fact that he has to babysit Dan, the alcoholic pariah who can never find a long-term relationship.
