Award-winning weekly documentary series The Aviators features interesting individuals, the most recent planes, the most recent technological advances, and exciting fly-in locations. The show's website explains the show's subject matter thusly: "During this tour, you'll see how airline pilots prepare for their jobs, how aircraft are constructed, and how air traffic control operates. Our focus will be on aviation companies and their wares. Pilots of all skill levels can benefit from our safety and career advice." On Saturday, September4,2010, the Global Television Network broadcast the pilot episode of The Aviators. Additionally, CHEK-TV in Canada and all 356 PBS stations in the United States will begin airing the film in various markets beginning on September15, 2010. The producers stated on September 1st, 2010 that a deal had been negotiated with Discovery Channel Asia, which would see the show aired in Asia in the spring of 2011. The show was broadcast about 8,000 times in North America in the first six months after its debut, an average of more than 40 times each day. More than 32,000 people viewed The Aviators on Hulu in just two weeks after it went live in February 2011. According to producers, George Canyon will be a guest presenter on Season 2 as a result of some modifications that were made in March 2011. September16, 2013 is the premiere date for the current season. In September2014, North America will be able to watch a fifth season of the show.
