HBO broadcast the television series Tenacious D: The Greatest Band on Earth over the years 1997, 1999, and 2000. It detailed fictitious events in the lives of the real-life band Tenacious D, whose members include Jack Black and Kyle Gass. On the DVD titled "Tenacious D's The Complete Masterworks," you can find each and every episode of the show. During the performance, they played a number of songs that would subsequently be included on the studio albums Tenacious D and The Pick of Destiny.
