Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
In stark contrast to the harsh, bloody, and gloomy MIRAGE comics that served as the inspiration for the Turtles, this adaptation of the franchise has stayed the one that has run the longest and is the one that has left the most lasting impression on fans. Hamato Yoshi, a Japanese man who was deported to New York and forced to live in the sewers, becomes friends with four turtles after the turtles accidentally tumble into the sewers. One day, he witnesses a peculiar green radiance that mutates the four turtles into beings that resemble humans. After transforming into a giant rat from the green glow, Hamato, who is now known as Master Splinter, instructs the turtles in the ways of the ninja as they join forces with April O'Neil, a news reporter for Channel 6, to fight Yoshi's greatest foe, Shredder, as well as Krang, an alien warlord from Dimension X.
