Suburbia
Conceiço departed Minas Gerais to escape coal ovens. She escapes on a cargo train to Rio de Janeiro, where a caring family takes her in. She falls in love with Cleiton, a hardworking and rebellious young man who grew up without a father. Conceiço becomes a brazilian funk sensation, yet she keeps her purity despite life's hardships. These regular folks face a quandary we all face: how to retain justice, ethics, and morals amid times of violence, unfairness, and decadence?
