Michael Ian Black, Michael Showalter, and David Wain, members of the sketch comedy troupe of the same name and former cast members of MTV's The State, created and starred in the short-lived television series Stella, which aired on the American television channel Comedy Central from June28, 2005 to August30, 2005. Since1997, Stella has been a comedic troupe. It has a cult following and sells out events throughout the United States. Tuesdays at 10:30 p.m. (EST), the show aired. Stella's time slot was taken over by Mind of Mencia in September, after 10 episodes. Stella's official website published the following statement on March8,2006: "Last summer, Comedy Central broadcasted the STELLA show. The show's second season has been canceled by the network "As a result, the show has been essentially canceled. On September12,2006, the DVD of the first season was released.
