The Disney Channel in the United States is the broadcaster of the American sitcom titled "Shake It Up." The first episode of the series was broadcast on November 7, 2010. The program, which was developed by Chris Thompson and stars Bella Thorne and Zendaya, chronicles the exploits of CeCe Jones and Rocky Blue as they perform as background dancers on a local performance called Shake It Up Chicago. The show also stars Chris Thompson. In addition, it recounts their shenanigans both on and off the set, as well as their struggles and rising social position when they were in school. As the culmination of the second season, the episode "Made in Japan," which ran for a total of ninety minutes, was shown on August 17, 2012. On June 4, 2012, Disney Channel made the announcement that the show Shake It Up will be renewed for a third season. The network also revealed that Kenton Duty would not be a regular cast member for the third season, but that he would make appearances as a guest star.
