Rescue Me
Rescue Me is a British romantic comedy television series that aired on BBC One in 2002 and was produced by Tiger Aspect Productions. It was devised and primarily written by David Nicholls, and Sally Phillips plays Katie Nash, a divorcee who writes relationship pieces for Eden, the women's magazine she works for. The series was shot during November and December of 2001. It lasted for six episodes with an average of 3.4 million viewers and a 15 percent audience share on Sunday nights. Due to the low ratings, a second season was not commissioned, creating an unsolved cliffhanger. Before discovering that the second season of Rescue Me had been canceled, Nicholls had written four episodes for the unmade second season. Consequently, he took a hiatus from filmmaking to focus on his first novel, Starter for Ten. Oliver Darley's rendition of "Rescue Me" serves as the series' theme song.
