The Paul Germain and Joe Ansolabehere-created and Walt Disney Television Animation-produced animated series Recess airs on the Disney Channel in the United States. Six elementary school pupils and their relationships with their peers and instructors are the focus of this drama series. In North America, the title refers to the time during the school day when kids aren't in class and are outside in the schoolyard. They construct their own government and class structure in their civilization, which is set against the backdrop of a regular school.. Disney Channel aired repeats of the original ABC broadcast of Recess, which ran from 1997 to 2001. Since it was such a big hit in the US, the show was distributed to other countries, including the UK, where it ran on several networks, including Toon Mickey and Disney Channel UK. First, Walt Disney Pictures released Recess: School's Out, the first of two films based on the series. The next year, Recess Christmas: Miracle on Third Street, a direct-to-video sequel, was released. Recess: Taking the Fifth Grade, the sequel to Recess: All Growed Down, was released in 2003. Direct-to-video was used in both cases. Disney's Lilo & Stitch: The Series also featured the characters.
