Police Squad!
Police Squad! is a 1982 television comedy series developed by David Zucker, Jim Abrahams, and Jerry Zucker and starring Leslie Nielsen. The series, a satire of police procedurals, included Zucker, Abrahams, and Zucker's trademark sight gags, wordplay, and non sequiturs. While it was a satire of several television episodes and movies, it was particularly reminiscent of the Lee Marvin cop show M Squad and the late 1960s series Felony Squad. Despite being discontinued after only six episodes, the show gave birth to the successful Naked Gun film series. It was ranked #7 on TV Guide's 2013 list of 60 shows that were "Canceled Too Soon."
