Sky Arts, a broadcasting company based in the United Kingdom, is the creator of the TV play anthology series Playhouse Presents. Sky Arts 1 broadcast the first episode of the series on April12,2012, when it first began broadcasting. Each episode is penned by a new writer, and a different cast of actors appears in each one. The adaptation of A Country Doctor's Notebook, which was presented as a four-part series, was also shown on the strand in December of 2012. Sky Arts has made public their intention to commission a spin-off of the third play, which is titled Nixon's The One, to be performed in five parts. They claim that the entire cast, including Harry Shearer in the role of Nixon and Henry Goodman in the role of Kissinger, will return for the series run, which is scheduled to begin filming in September 2012. The first episode of the series will air in 2013. The second season of the show began airing in April 2013, and it starred Kathy Burke, Frances Barber, Julia Davis, Idris Elba, Anna Friel, Rebecca Front, Stephen Graham, David Harewood, Ian Hart, Sharon Horgan, Mathew Horne, Suranne Jones, Kylie Minogue, Vanessa Redgrave, Peter Serafinowicz, Matt Smith, Johnny Vegas, Marc Warren, Jack Whitehall, and Reggie Yates.
