Pets is a British puppet sitcom produced by Fit2Fill. It initially aired on Channel 4 in 2001 and 2002. Fox, MTV, and the Middle East bought it. Andrew Barclay and Brian West devised and wrote the series. They had previously worked together at the Edinburgh Festival and on the sketch show We Know Where You Live. Pets had 26 11-minute episodes. Due to early morning airings, the series was relatively unknown, but it gained a cult following. The official website wanted Pets on DVD. Official website sold a limited edition DVD. In addition to the two seasons, the DVD contained two unaired episodes, "The Trials of Hamish," and "The Making of Pets." Pets podcasts are available on iTunes. In2010, BBC3 aired Mongrels, generating controversy. Pets had four primary characters whereas Mongrels had five. Mongrels' locations are more varied than Pets'.
