Password is an American TV game show made by Goodson-Todman Productions and created by Bob Stewart. Allen Ludden was the host. He was well-known for being the host of the G.E. College Bowl. From October 2, 1961, to September 15, 1967, CBS aired 1,555 daytime episodes of Password every weekday. From January 2, 1962, to September 9, 1965, and from December 25, 1966, to May 22, 1967, the show also aired in prime time every week. From April 5, 1971, to June 27, 1975, ABC showed an extra 1,099 daytime shows. Jack Clark and Lee Vines from CBS and John Harlan from ABC were the show's announcers. After that, two revivals aired on NBC from 1979 to 1982 and 1984 to 1989. Then, from 2008 to 2009, a prime time version aired on CBS. In 2013, TV Guide put it at number 8 on a list of the 60 best game shows of all time.
