Roy Huggins produced the Western television series Maverick, which has humorous aspects. Actor James Garner plays Bret Maverick, an expert card player, in the ABC series that aired from September 22, 1957 through July 8, 1962. To help him out, Jack Kelly was cast as his brother Bart eight episodes into the show's first season; they continued to work together on a weekly basis, occasionally teaming up for episodes with both brothers on screen at the same time.
