Lovers is a South Korean television series starring Kim Jung-eun and Lee Seo-jin as a plastic surgeon and a gangster in an improbable relationship. Twenty episodes aired at 21:55 on Wednesdays and Thursdays from November 8, 2006 to January 11, 2007 on SBS. It is the concluding episode of the "Lovers" trilogy written by Kim Eun-sook and directed by Shin Woo-chul. Unlike earlier chapters Lovers in Paris and Lovers in Prague, which were partially filmed in Europe, Lovers was filmed on Hainan Island in China. Lovers is based on the Lee Man-hee stage play Turn Around and Leave, which also served as the basis for the 1998 hit film A Promise starring Jeon Do-yeon and Park Shin-yeong.
