Les Misérables
1815 in France. Jean Valjean, a common thief, gets released from jail after 19 years of suffering, but a slight error puts the government once more on his trail. Because of his misguided sense of justice, Inspector Javert relentlessly pursues Jean Valjean over many years, while Valjean transforms into a man of virtue who devotes the rest of his life to good. During the Paris Revolution of 1832, Valjean and Javert meet for the last time on the streets of France.
