Lawman
Lawman is an American western TV show that first aired on ABC from 1958 to 1962 with John Russell as Marshal Dan Troop and Peter Brown as Deputy Marshal Johnny McKay. In 1879 and the 1880s, the series took place in Laramie, Wyoming. Warner Bros. already had several western shows on the air at the time. Cheyenne, starring Clint Walker, had been on the air since 1955. In1957, the studio added Maverick, starring James Garner and Jack Kelly, Colt.45, starring Wayde Preston, and Sugarfoot, starring Will Hutchins. Warner Bros. added Lawman and Bronco with Ty Hardin a year later. Before filming started, Russell, Brown, and the show's producer, Jules Schermer, agreed to keep the show's quality high so that it wouldn't be seen as "just another western." At the start of season two, Peggie Castle joined Russell and Brown as Dan's love interest Lily Merrill, the owner of the Birdcage Saloon.
