K-9 is a British/Australian comedy/adventure series based on the exploits of Doctor Who's robot dog K-9, created by combining computer animation and live action. On Halloween 2009, the first episode broadcast as a sneak preview of the series on Disney XD, a satellite station in the United Kingdom and Ireland. The whole series premiered in October 2010 on Network Ten in Australia, Disney XD in the United Kingdom and Ireland, Scandinavia, Poland, Italy, and the Netherlands, and Disney Channel CEE in Bulgaria, Romania, Moldavia, Slovakia, Hungary, and the Czech Republic. A second series is in the works, and the first season will air on two networks: Channel 5 in the United Kingdom and Cartoon Network in New Zealand. Other networks have yet to be revealed. Between December 2010 and April 2011, Channel 5 broadcasted the first season in the United Kingdom. The series premiered on the US cable channel Syfy on December 25, 2012, with an all-day marathon of the first season.
