Hogan's Heroes was an American sitcom that aired on the CBS network from September 17, 1965, to July 4, 1971, and lasted 168 episodes. During World War II, the show was set in a German prisoner of war camp. Colonel Robert E. Hogan, played by Bob Crane, is in charge of a multinational crew of Allied inmates leading a Special Operations force from the camp. Werner Klemperer played camp commandant Wilhelm Klink, and John Banner was stupid guard Hans Schultz. During its six-season run, the show was extremely popular. Bernard Fein's estate and Albert S. Ruddy bought the sequel and additional Hogan's Heroes rights from Mark Cuban in2013. A movie based on the show is planned.
