Fuyumi Ono is the author of the light novel series Ghost Hunt, which was formerly known by its original title, Akury Series. It chronicles the exploits of the Shibuya Psychic Research Center as they explore unusual phenomena all throughout Japan with a team of other spiritualists and astute aides. These adventures take place in both the present and the past. Despite the fact that the last novel was written and published in1994, the story was never finished. Even though Ono's statement has never been officially confirmed to be in reference to Ghost Hunt, speculation has arisen regarding the continuation of the series after the creator, Fuyumi Ono, stated in an interview that she was resuming work on a "girls' horror story" that she began working on a long time ago. Staff adapted the manga into an anime, which debuted on October3, 2006 on TV Tokyo in Japan, where it aired for a total of twenty-five episodes until coming to an end. Funimation Entertainment, which also released movies under the moniker Ghost Hunt, has the license to distribute the anime in the English-speaking market on DVD for Region 1.
