Canal Road
The Australian Nine Network has a drama show called Canal Road. The show was made in-house by producer Susan Bower and writers Sarah Smith, John Ridley, and Dave Warner. Kevin Carlin was in charge of the show's direction. It was shot at GTV Studio 11 on Channel Nine and in and around Melbourne. The show is said to have cost A$10 million to make. The 13-part show started airing on April 16, 2008. The show's first episode got mixed reviews from critics and average ratings, which dropped even more when it was moved to a later time slot. After the seventh episode of Canal Road, which only got 360,000 viewers, Nine took the show off the air, but the eighth episode is still available online. In August and December 2008, Nine showed the last two episodes. On August 4, 2008, Australia got the DVD of Canal Road.
