Bored to Death

Jonathan Ames, a young Brooklyn writer, is feeling disoriented. He's recently gone through a traumatic break-up, thanks in part to his drinking, is unable to produce his second novel, and carouses excessively with his magazine editor. Rather of confronting reality, Jonathan escapes into his dreams, moonlighting as a private detective, since he aspires to be a hero and a man of action.
