The British game show Blind Date was made by London Weekend Television. A pilot with comedian Duncan Norvelle as the host was made, but it was never shown. Instead, the show was hosted by Cilla Black, who already hosted the LWT show Surprise, Surprise. From November 30, 1985, through May 31, 2003, Blind Date aired on Saturday nights. Blind Date will come back for a one-time only special at the end of 2013 to honor Black's 50 years in the entertainment business. This one-time-only special will be part of Paul O'Grady's show The One and Only Cilla Black. The producers of Blind Date want to bring back some of the show's most memorable single contestants and give them a second chance to win a date.
