Being Erica is a comedy-drama television series that originally broadcast on CBC from January5, 2009 to December12, 2011. Initially announced by the CBC as The Session, the series was renamed Being Erica prior to its 2009 premiere. It is produced by Temple Street Productions and internationally distributed by BBC Worldwide. The show stars Erin Karpluk as Erica Strange, a woman who begins seeing a therapist to deal with her regrets, only to realize that the therapist has the capacity to send her back in time to experience and alter these events. The second season premiered in Canada on September22, 2009. Due to funding limitations at the CBC, only 12 episodes were created for the second season. The CBC announced the renewal of Being Erica for a third season of 13 episodes on May11, 2010. Soapnet announced that it had acquired the third season in its entirety. The third season premiered on September 21, 2010, at 9:00 p.m. ET on CBC Television. Season 3 premiered on Soapnet on January 26, 2011, in the United States. The fourth and last season of the show aired in the fall of 2011. Sinyor informed TV Guide during the series' fourth and final season that she had no plans to write or produce a fifth season, despite the fact that the show was never formally canceled by the CBC.
