Ryouma Sakamoto wants everyone to know about his love for rock 'n' roll, so he travels about town with his electric guitar and is prepared to demonstrate anybody he meets that he is just as competent as the legendary Shinsengumi stars they look up to. Regrettably, Japan does not permit anything other than the group's Heaven's Songs; the creation or performance of other genres of music is illegal and can result in severe repercussions. Ryouma is agitated by the stringent regulations and the brainwashing, and as a result, he is doing everything he can to show people that the music he loves would offer them the freedom that they deserve. Ryouma puts forth a lot of effort, along with his fellow rock 'n' roll comrades Shinsaku Takasugi and Kogoru Katsura, to locate venues where their band may play. After vigorously pursuing the goal of having their music recognized in Japan, the band's members gradually came to the conclusion that there was more to their ardor than they had previously recognized.
