Another World

Another World was a 35-year-long American television soap opera that aired on NBC from May 4, 1964, to June 25, 1999. "We do not live in this world alone, but in a thousand other worlds," announcer Bill Wolff would say in the early years of the show, which Phillips said highlighted the distinction between "the world of events we live in, and the world of sentiments and dreams that we strive for." Another World centered on exotic melodrama between families of various backgrounds and philosophies, rather than the typical home turmoil featured in other soap operas.
