Alcatraz
J. J. Abrams and Bad Robot Productions produced the American television series Alcatraz, which was created by Elizabeth Sarnoff, Steven Lilien, and Bryan Wynbrandt and produced by J. J. Abrams and Bad Robot Productions. As a mid-season replacement, the show debuted on Fox on January 16, 2012. The series jumps back and forth in time, focusing on the Alcatraz prison, which was purportedly closed in 1963 due to unsafe conditions for both inmates and personnel. The concept of the show is that both the prisoners and the guards vanished in 1963 and have now resurfaced in modern-day San Francisco, where they are being pursued by a federal agency. Sarah Jones, Jorge Garcia, Sam Neill, and Parminder Nagra were among the cast members of the series. On May 9, 2012, the program was canceled.
