Yukito Kunisaki embarks on a quest to find the Winged Maiden, who was chained to the sky centuries ago, after hearing an old tale from his mother as a child. As Yukito attempts to earn money by performing his puppet show, he finds himself in a little village where he did not intend to remain for long. However, when he meets the peculiar Misuzu, his life takes a dramatic change when she invites him to stay with her. By remaining in the picturesque town, Yukito quickly makes local acquaintances. As he gets to know them more, he discovers their issues and chooses to assist them, suspending his search for the Winged Maiden.
