Yanks
As part of the war effort during World War II, the United States established army bases in Great Britain. Many British people dislike the brash Americans, despite their correct sensibilities, and this is especially true when it comes to the G.I.s making overtures on the lonely British girls. An example of this is the relationship that develops between married John, an Army Captain, and Helen, an aristocratic woman whose navy husband is away fighting in the war. Even though Helen is deeply in love with her spouse, she and her husband, John, are looking for some solace during these trying times.
