Walkabout
Under the premise of taking his teenage daughter and 6-year-old son for a picnic, a geologist takes them into the Australian outback and attempts to shoot them. In the event of failure, he turns the pistol on himself, leaving the two city-bred youngsters to face the harsh wilderness on their own. They are saved by a fortunate encounter with an Aborigine youngster, who teaches them how to survive and, in the process, highlights the discordance between nature and modern life in the United Kingdom.
