Gaston Monescu, a thief, and Lily, a pickpocket, are partners in crime and in love. Working for perfume company executive Mariette Colet, the two robbers decide to combine their criminal skills to rob their boss. Gaston exploits his job as Mariette's personal secretary to gain access to her under the pseudonym of Monsieur Laval. He goes too far, however, when he falls in love with Mariette and is forced to choose between her and Lily.
