After a long journey, Laura (Florencia Colucci) and her father Wilson (Gustavo Alonso) arrive in a remote cottage in order to fix it before the house's owner (Abel Tripaldi) decides to sell it. After spending the night there, they'll go to work on the repairs the next morning.. Everything appears to be running nicely until Laura becomes aware of a strange sound coming from outside that is becoming increasingly loud on the upper floor of the house. When Wilson goes upstairs to investigate, she waits downstairs alone, waiting for her father to come down from his office. The scenario is based on a true tale that took place in a small Uruguayan community in the 1940s, and is set in the present day. The film La casa muda concentrates on the last seventy-eight minutes of Laura's life, second by second, as she struggles to flee the house without being hurt and uncovers the dark mystery that the house is hiding.
