The Purple Plain

Once his spouse is killed by Luftwaffe bombers, Forrester becomes a lone killing machine who doesn't care how long it takes for him to die. During World War II in Burma, the rest of his squadron looked up to and dreaded the daring Canadian pilot. In order to assess whether or not Bill Forrester is fit for duty, the squadron physician is tasked with the job of doing so. The doctor drives Forrester to an English-speaking refugee enclave, which features a beautiful young Burmese woman, in order to break through the man's wall of silence.
