The Proposition

The film is set in the Australian outback in the 1880s and chronicles the events after the purported rape and murder of the Hopkins family by the notorious Burns brothers gang. Captain Morris Stanley captures Charlie Burns and orders him nine days to kill his older, more dangerous, psychopath brother, or they will hang his younger, less intelligent brother on Christmas Day.
