Denny Burke is on the verge of completing his high school diploma. My senior year has been a series of misfortunes, beginning with a broken leg, then a broken heart, and last, the most devastating of all, a shattered house Denny embarks on one final rock-climbing expedition with four of his closest pals in order to demonstrate that he is ready to enter adulthood... They obtain a genetic boost that is much beyond anything they could have envisioned while on their trip. The first significant decision of Denny's adult life comes soon afterward: should he give up his powers and remain a normal teenager, or should he maintain them...and become a member of the human race?
