The Laurel & Hardy Moving Company is faced with a difficult task (and a sore back): dragging a player piano up a massive flight of steps to Prof. von Schwarzenhoffen's mansion. Their mission is hindered by a snarky nursemaid and, unbeknownst to them, the impatient Prof. von Schwarzenhoffen. However, the primary issue is gravity, which constantly drags the piano back down to the bottom of the stairs. Finally, the enraged Professor explodes with rage upon discovering the "mechanical blunderbuss" in his home, unaware that it was a surprise birthday present from his wife.
